about

The debut full length album from Lawrence KS folk/bluegrass duo Drakkar Sauna. In this CD Jeff and Wallace summon politically charged messages and natural imagery. Comes from the heart, and you can hear it in their voices.

Originally released on Marriage Records as an MCDR in 2004, then again as a proper CD in 2006, this masterpiece is finally available digitally. Includes photos and bonus tracks regarding a performance at Stage 7, Winfield, KS in 2004, scans of the original MCDR, and additional photos.

"Taking a cue from antediluvian folk music recordings like Harry Smith's anthology or, more recently, The Louvin Brothers, Drakkar Sauna plays old-time folk ballads with a rough-around-the-edges charm and a whole lotta charisma. They're not the greatest singers nor the greatest musicians, but that was never really the point of folk music anyways, right? This ain't yer Kingston Trio hogwash, it's music for the weirdo in all of us."
